The Darwin Crocodile Farm is situated on the Stuart Highway approx 40 kilometres south of Darwin. From a small beginning in 1981 the farm is now home to more than 36,000 crocodiles. The crocodiles range in size from hatchlings just a few centimeters long to large males over five metres in length.

Many people simply enjoy the crocodile farm as a place to cheaply and easily view crocodiles in a safe environment. When the billabongs were developed they were planted with native trees and tropical plants to give a natural effect. The "freshie" billabong is a stable mini ecosystem, typical of many waterholes found throughout the top end. The air-conditioned kiosk can comfortably seat up to 80 people and the outside verandah offers great crocodile viewing plus seating for a further 50 guests. Delicious light meals including crocodile delicacies such as 'Croc Burger' and 'Crocodile Drumsticks' are served. Non-alcoholic drinks are sold. Groups may bring their own picnics and drinks. Our wide range of souvenirs offers a gift for everyone. Crocodile skin accessories range from 'lucky croc foot key rings' through to belts, wallets, and wall hangings. All croc products are made in Australia from farmed stock and carry the necessary permits to allow trouble free entry to countries overseas.

The gardens now offer plenty of shade for tourists and an environment for the crocodile that allows the animal to effectively be on display, without feeling discomfort or alarm. The permanent water and bush setting means that many native birds and animals call the farm home. Bird enthusiasts can quickly add to their diaries numerous species such as kingfishers, ibis, sandpipers, storks and birds of prey as they go about their daily business. Water monitors, turtles and many other lizard species are regularly spotted in the gardens.

We are open 9.00 am to 4.pm daily (except Christmas day). The entry fee (inclusive of GST) is $10 for adults, $8 for pensioners and $5.50 for children.

Discounts are available to groups and various cardholders including: DEFCOM, API, Presidential Cards and some Youth hostel cards.
